Today I’m sharing what life is currently looking like for the Thomases at 25 weeks. I also have a few of my favorite products that I’ve been using while pregnant so far.
We found out Griff was a boy at 20 weeks, and have been so excited ever since (we both were kind of secretly hoping for a boy!). A few people have asked about his name, and we’re naming him John Griffith Thomas IV, but we are going to call him by his middle name, Griffith.
We took a trip to Florida for a friend’s wedding when I was around 21 weeks and it was on our flight home that I felt him moving for the very first time. Such a weird and crazy feeling! Ever since, he has been more and more active, especially at night. Johnny was able to feel him a couple days ago, and that made it so much more exciting!
We just had our 25 week ultrasound appointment on Wednesday and he is growing perfectly. Our doctor let us know that his limbs are definitely longer than a normal baby at this week (thanks to my 6′ 6″ husband) so we should expect to deliver a long baby!
Our second trimester has been such a breeze compared to the first. Most of my morning sickness is completely gone and I’m finally starting to feel like I have some energy back. I’m not really having any particular cravings, because currently everything sounds pretty dang good. I have been eating a lot of Special K cereal with icy cold almond milk and that has been my special treat.
Along with an update, I wanted to share a few of my favorite products that I have been using so far. Some of them I don’t know if I’ll be able to leave behind after Griff is here!
I love using this Bio-Oil after I get out of the shower at night. I know there’s not necessarily a “cure” for stretch marks, but I’m paranoid about getting them as my stomach grows. If anything, this helps keep my skin extra moisturized and I’m making sure to drink tons of water throughout the day.
This is the item that I’m not sure I’m going to want to put away after the baby arrives. This pregnancy pillow has been a game changer! I was having a really hard time falling asleep at night, and dealing with some jaw pain issues, and this pillow has helped to keep me in one position and sleep through the night. It’s unfortunate that it takes up half of our bed, kinda, but it’s worth every single penny.
So, when I found out I was pregnant, I got on this high horse for some reason about not buying maternity jeans (insert eye roll). Last week I was tired of putting on my jeans with a hair tie (lol) and while shopping at Target, I decided to pick up a pair of dark wash maternity jeans and Oh. My. Gosh. was my life forever changed. They are seriously one of the most comfortable pairs of jeans I’ve ever owned, and I’ve already joked with Johnny that I’m keeping them for Thanksgivings to come. Plus, they’re less than $35 which is better than most other places. Can’t beat it!
