Good morning and Happy Wednesday, friends!
I’m writing you today from my hometown in Michigan. I was able to find some time to sneak away back home for awhile and it has been so refreshing. We’ve been up north relaxing and there’s really no place I love more than Northern Michigan during the summer.
I wanted to give a quick pregnancy update since the last time I talked about Baby Thomas was when we revealed we were pregnant at nine weeks! Time has flown by so quickly.
Today marks 14 weeks, which means I am officially done with my first trimester (PRAISE THE LORRRRRRRD). Baby is the size of a lemon! Baby can also move it’s face and even start sucking it’s thumb. We had an ultrasound where we could see the baby’s hands and feet, and watched it move and shake. We also heard the heartbeat as well.
Last time we talked, I told you I was having some nausea and tiredness. Goodness, I didn’t even know what was about to hit me in the next 4 weeks. My exhaustion was at an all time low. I felt little motivation to do anything, and was sick almost every other day. I know that there are moms out there who had it worse than me, but it was pretty hard.
I’m so happy that we finally hit the 14 week mark. Any time I talked with other mom’s about how I was feeling, their answers were all the same, “just wait til you hit the second trimester”. It seriously feels like someone hit a switch–I feel like I have a rush of energy, and the nausea has gone away as well. I finally feel like I’m back to normal.
Thank you for all the sweet texts and messages with your prayers and asking about the status of the baby. We are so grateful to know that this baby is already so loved and prayed over.
See you in the next post!
