Happy Tuesday Night!
Last week, I shared my makeup routine with you on my Instagram stories. I’m still receiving questions, so I thought it would be best to do a full blog post on it instead!
Let’s get started.
Clean Face
Before I start putting on makeup, I cleanse my face with a makeup remover wipe. Currently, I use Kroger Cleansing Makeup Remover Wipes. I use these because I always find them on sale 2 for $5. You can also find these at King Soopers.
Moisturize
This is a newer step in my makeup process. I have watched enough makeup videos on YouTube with people who say that moisturizer is the most important step. So, I wanted to try to find something that would calm the redness around my t-zone. I found Burt’s Bees Sensitive Daily Moisturizing Cream , and so far, I am in love. I feel like I can totally tell a difference in how well my makeup stays on during the day. I found it cheapest on Amazon for $12 (on Burt’s Bees site, it’s $15). I highly recommend this product. I put it on at least 3 times a day!
Foundation
I am constantly changing foundations. I really haven’t found something that I’m totally in love with. But for now, this is what I’m currently using: Dream Liquid Mousse by Maybelline New York. I really like this formula because it doesn’t feel heavy on my face. Give it a try and tell me what your thoughts are!
Bronze
I wish I was more okay with feeling pale during the winter, but I don’t. I personally feel like I always need a little color. My absolute favorite bronzer is Butter Bronzer from Physician’s Formula –this stuff seriously smells like your favorite fruity, coconut drink. It’s also really pretty on the skin. Buy it off Amazon instead of in the store–it will save you about $4.
Blush
Blush is not something I use all the time, but I’ve found a new product from my ipsy bag that I’ve really been loving. If you’re curious about ipsy, check my January ipsy bag review post, here.
This blush from Bang Beauty is so pretty and pigmented. This is in the shade Cheeky. It’s $20, which is a little pricy even for me, but definitely worth the $$.
Highlight
So, this is the funny one. I received a sample eyeshadow product from Pixi Beauty in the shade Sunshine Ray, and it is seriously the most beautiful highlight shade. I put it on my cheeks, nose, brow bone and cupid’s bow. As you can tell from the picture, I have loved on it well–and need more! Maybe one day I’ll find an ACTUAL highlight that I love, but for now i’m keeping with this.
Eyeliner
Eyeliner is eyeliner, ya know. But I like to use liquid eyeliner rather than a pencil or crayon. I use the Skinny Liquid Eyeliner by Eyeko London. It’s normally $22, but you can get 20% off your order when you sign up to receive e-mails from them. Totally worth it!
Mascara
Mascara is my absolute FAVORITE makeup item. I have naturally long eyelashes, so I love to boost them up with great mascara. Sometimes, it’s all I leave the house with. While I have a lot of favorites (and could probably do a whole blog post on mascara) Stila Huge Extreme Mascara is by far the best I’ve ever tried. It doesn’t leave your lashes looking clumpy, and makes them long and pretty. I seriously love this stuff, and it’s absolutely worth the ticket price.
Lips
Living in Colorado, you need a lipstick that looks both pretty on and nourishing. I don’t like to pay a ton for lipsticks, so my favorite right now is Blushing Brown by ELF cosmetics. It’s such a pretty color, and I get compliments every time I wear it. Plus, it’s only $3 and you can’t beat that.
That’s my makeup routine! Let me know if you grab any of these products, I’d love to hear what you think about them!
Have a great night!
Always, Aleesha
I love what you are doing! Keep it up!
